Tool 6

A wiki is a great way for students to share their work. They can also get new ideas from other students' works in case they get stuck or are having trouble generating ideas. PBworks can be used in the classroom to provide a student-centered learning environment. Students can create their own web pages, embed images & video, and post documents. Very cool!

Tool 5

I created an account with Delicious..and it was tasty! JK...I found 2 websites...

The first one is for learning another language online. I want to become a better Spanish speaker, so I thought this site might help! http://www.livemocha.com/

The second is for all you LSU sports fans out there! Geaux Tigers! http://lsusports.net/

It was really easy to find websites. All I did was type in the subject in the Search at the top of the page and multiple sites came up. I looked through and found the ones that matched my search the most!

Social bookmarking can be used to share different websites with classmates. The students can search other people's sites and click on them if they find them interesting or if they will help with an assignment!

Tool 4

Sharing the Google docs with other students can be used when editing a writing. Students can collaborate and edit at the same time from 2 different computers.

I don't understand the point of following blogs in Google Reader when we can do the same thing from our actual blog. I added 5 people's blogs but I will probably just keep up with them through blogspot and not google reader.

Tool 3

I used the Dumpr to distort a picture and Spell with Flickr to create words with a variety of letters. Dumpr can be used as a fun way to explore technology during indoor recess or free time. I enjoyed this one because of the way you can distort a picture! It makes people look funny and I think the kids would really get a kick out of it! Flickr can be used to practice the spelling words of the week. I want to try using some of the other tools to see what else can be used!! :)

Tool 2

I think this is a great tool for building relationships within the community. This will be a helpful way to share infomation with other teachers, as well as learn more from other teachers!...I'm assuming that's what it means by PLN?? Haha!

I liked being able to comment on other people's blogs...It allows for a conversation to happen! Not only between the 2 people, but others can join in as well!

I commented on Melanie Marshall, Megan Veron, Belinda Salazaar, Donna Cramer, and Coach K's blogs! Great job guys!!! :)

Tool 1

I just created my first blog. I am not very good at figuring out technology so it was difficult at first to figure out what to do. I enjoyed creating the Avatar and getting to design it the way I wanted! I would use this in the classroom by having each student have their own personal blog. The students could blog about books they are reading individually. I could also use it as a Guided Reading tool by having the students blog a response about the book we are reading in the group.
